Pole Barn Project
To date we have raised $65,000 to build a much needed pole barn on the ranch. However, when we set the wheels in motion to complete this project, steel prices had increased more than 50% over the previous 6 months leaving a financial gap of $34,000 over our original costs to complete this project.
The pole barn is of great importance to us for many reasons:
The barn will cover our Fodder Box which we use to grow food for the horses, providing protection from direct sunlight and inclement weather making it easier for the air conditioning and heating units to maintain the box temperature at 68-70 degrees.
It will provide a protected area for storing hay that can be offloaded and stacked in squeezes by machine, eliminating the need for us to handle each bale.
It will provide a much-needed work space to work on projects with protection from sun and wind, including providing shade for our feed volunteers that prepare food twice daily in this area for our 53 rescue horses and donkeys.
Finally, the multipurpose barn will protect the historic adobe hay shed from further deterioration due to harsh Arizona weather.
Horse’n Around Rescue is working to raise the additional funds to complete this important project through grants, and private support. Any and all donations will bring us one step closer to completing this important project!
