Volunteer Opportunities

Horse’n Around Rescue is run 100% on volunteer power as we have no paid staff! If you want to have a good time, don’t mind getting dirty and want to help some amazing horses, we are the place for you.

Ground School

Help us teach the horses trust, confidence, skills and manners in our natural horsemanship ground school. This training is critical to creating well adjusted and well mannered horses. Graduates who are deemed rideable then move on to under saddle training with our volunteer horse trainer.

No experience is necessary! Ground School meets on most Wednesdays and Saturdays, weather permitting, from 9 AM - 11AM.

Group Projects

If there is one constant on a ranch, it is there is ALWAYS work to be done! This includes repairs, building projects, horse grooming, corral cleaning, hugging the horses and so much more. If you have a group looking for something to do, contact us and we will find a project suitable for your needs.

Did we mention that all these horses love to eat? I mean really like to eat! Each morning and afternoon, volunteers feed at the ranch 7 days a week. It is no small task, but a rewarding one and you get to really know the all the residents of the ranch. Volunteers will pair with a seasoned feeding volunteer for training before feeding on their own. This is a great job for two people if you have a friend or family member that would like to volunteer as well. This does require getting dirty, some heavy lifting, and driving an ATV. You may be placed on a waiting list if all the feeding slots are filled.
